If you're reading this message, it's because you indicated some interest 
in joining a new mailing list, exclusively for novice Linux users. You
are either a novice yourself, or you have expressed a desire to help 
Linux novices. Either way, I hope your time here is both productive and
effective in climbing the Linux learning curve.

One way to measure our success here will be to see how many of the novices 
here become novice helpers, (or "mentors") in the coming months. Let the
