Taking over the world with one Linux box? ...Ummm No but with many of us, 
with many Linux machines....this very well could be our next project...After 
all Pinky and the Brain attempt this every day at 4. :)

But seriously we do have a great group here to help as for reading on the 
web we have a section on the KLUG sever called 
http://kalamazoolinux.org/links  here you will find a "Newbies" section with 
lots of info along with alot of other helpfull links.. Just pull up a chair 
and dig in
