assistance requested
ok here goes... i've finally gotten a legitimate Linux box (only OS on it is
Linux, not horridly fast 133, decent enough RAM for me 32) working and this
is making me happy, i'm currently fighting with Samba (at least that's what
i call it, it's more of a lack on knowledge on my part) trying to be able to
copy a file from my Win98 box over to the Linux box. i did the rather
generic install of RH6.1, everything except Gnome files cause i've not found
Gnome to be designed for slower machines, especially not with
enlightenment...
anyhow i'll make a small disclaimer before i say where my desire for
assistance is:
******i know not what i do in Linux, i merely learn by mistakes and asking
for help******
ok now i do believe that Samba has been installed, i appear to have the
appropriate files. when i run the command "# smbmount / /mfalcon/website
/mnt/wincrap" i get an error along the lines "could not resolve mount point
/mnt/shared" now i'm pretty sure that it's just my lack of experience here,
but any assitance would be appreciated...
oh btw i did made the /mnt/wincrap directory, my gut feeling is that the
problem is in me just making the directory and maybe needing to do something
more than merely mkdir
thanks
