"ifconfig" on the Linux box will show you the running interfaces, you should
see a "eth0". Thats your ethernet card. "winipcfg" will show you the interface
on your win32 box, you should see your ethernet card. See that the IP
addresses are on the same subnet (begin with the same three sets of numbers).
Type "ping {other machines ip}" on both machines, same command syntax. You
should see something that doesn't look like an error.
