That was probably me, Bryan Smith, formerly of AbsoluteValue Systems,
Inc. I am no longer employed by them.
Making RPMs for software is not too difficult. But making RPMs for
specific kernels is more difficult. Especially when those modules
depend on a number of other kernel details, and the software itself is
not well-designed (at the conf/Makefile-level) for packaging in the
first place. As such, the SPEC files are useless outside of the
specific kernels they were released for.
