I guess I missed that one (I've been busy here and there, plus I'm having Ximian
Evolution problems as previously covered by someone else ;-).
In that case, I think you're looking the wrong way. Don't worry about the
drive, how is the 2940UW's termination set???
On the 2940UW, you can only use only 2 of the 3 connectors (Int68, Ext68, Int50)
*AND* you must set the correct termination to match in the <Cntl-A> firmware
setup. There should be two sets of options. The help will tell you which to
use based on what connectors you are using.
Since you mentioned you _were_ able to get a 68-pin drive to work, I'm going to
assume you do _not_ have the correct termination on the card itself correct. Go
into the <Cntl-A> firmware setup and check. I bet that's your problem.
Now on the Seagate drive, as far as J01 is concerned, that is a legacy option
that most drives don't have nowdays. Putting both jumpers on J01 will provide
terminator power to the bus. That is just for use by other devices, but not for
setting termination on the device itself (that's what J4A pins 19-20 are for).

The reason why Microsoft is so successful is because they fooled
an overwhelming majority of people into thinking there is such a
thing as a "free lunch." The DOJ case has arisen from those
same consumers who won't accept the fact that they were respon-
sible for locking themselves into only one company's products.
