I have a Dell Inspiron 2500 laptop (BIOS dated 11/05/02) that I'm
*trying* to load BSWare 8.0 or Mandrake 9.0.
(Intel i815EM/82815 chipset with integrated i752 graphics 1MB video
memory)

Linux appears to install just fine, but when X starts, the screen looks
like the Vert Freq is way off.

The output from "X > /tmp/x.out 2>&1" contains three errors, and I have
to clue what they mean.

According to "
http://www.atomised.org/docs/XFree86-4.2.1/i810__dri_8c-source.html ",
Line #557, it appears the error is the failure of trying to "allocate and
bind the agp space".

A problem with allocating memory for the AGP video chip?

What the fork is a "kernel ring buffer"????

Mike
