Doesn't _anyone_ read specification sheets anymore??? Every vendor has
a spec sheet for every model.
Furthermore, some vendors put the number right in the model number.=20
E.g., The very last digit in a Maxtor drive model is the number of heads
(heads / 2 =3D platters).
Lastly, you _should_ be reading reviews of disks, and those reviews
_should_ mention what the "flagship" model is (i.e. the maximum number
of platters), as well as others.
More platters means more heat, less tolerance. Ironically enough, more
platters (and heads) don't necessarily mean better performance.
