Not true... Power4 comes in single core (HPC) and dual core (Turbo).
With speeds of 1.1 and 1.3 GHz.
If the pinouts are the same apple could create the motherboard today and
start testing and porting.
Where these chips are cool....
Is the interlock between 4 chips. 4 or 8 way processors in a single module
(MCM) ie fully SMP without extra chips upto 32 ways.
Nice pictures of 4 chip MCM and 4 MCM in a big layout. Is actual photos on
page 12. Note: that is year old document, but gives a good over view. Oh
and if you need bigger this... the can be setup into clusters, actually one
suggested way is to setup 16 logic machines and then cluster these. This
way if some thing fails only that subpart shutsdown, gets repaired and
comes back on line.
