Yes, I _know_ -- *BUT* for the PPC970, IBM has clearly stated it will be
_single_ core-only. At least that is what many news outlets were
reporting (and didn't the EETimes article confirm???).

I don't think the PPC970 is the same pin-out, but I wasn't at MDF so I
don't know.

The PPC970 will be scalable to 16-way, single-core. So I assume that's
similar to traditional Power4 with dual-cores on-die.

Again, this is _not_ a "traditional" Power4, but the new 1.8GHz PowerPC
970 instance with full 32-bit PowerPC compatibility. I don't think IBM
is putting 32-bit compatibility in all its Power4 series.
