At $1800 (starting price), that seems VERY expensive for what you get:
 -40gig
 -256MB RAM
 -ATI Radeon 32 Meg
 -2 year warranty
 -free RedHat (XP Pro was another $199--which you can get yourself for $129, or included in price of other laptops)
 -Touch pad (only)---my Dell Inspiron has Touchpoint and eraser head pointers
 -15" LCD
 -Realtek 8139 ethernet
 -integrated modem
 -firewire and USB
 -CDRW/DVD combo drive

I don't know who makes it, though.
