I just got done setting up RH9's VPN (CIPE).  It is SLICK & EASY!
This is definitely the way to go!  Even if it's not supported on 
the firewall box, all you have to do is open-up/forward one UDP 
port to a Linux box behind the firewall.

The Redhat 9 Security Guide (on the documentation CD) has a nice
writeup on setting up CIPE.

There is even _some_ Windows drivers (NT & 2000 ONLY), that claims 
to be compatible with Linux CIPE, although I haven't tried them 
(and I don't have any immediate plans to).
