Ordered one, just came in.  Works like a champ in Redhat 9!

Plugged it in and it was recognized by the usbserial driver 
as a PL-2303 converter and it was assigned to /dev/ttyUSB0 .
Cabled it to an external modem, fired up minicom, and "AT" 
commands respond as expected.  Looks good!
