I appologize for the HTML post earlier.
I'm resending this sans html.
I've been trying to install Linux on a server I just aquired.
550mhz PIII
512mb ram
4 9gb hardware raid5
Anyway, here's whats happening:
The install will work fine If I don't let it wait for long at any of the
prompts.
Once it's installed it will boot up just fine with no errors.
Once the system is up however it starts to leak memory. It does this until
the system runs out of memory.
I've configured 2gb of swap and it just fills it up.
If I load top and watch it's a different process each time.
Sometimes init.
Sometimes gpm.
Sometime yast.
It always happens and it starts imediatly. I've tried both Runlevel 3 and 5.
I've tried Redhat 9, SUSE 9,9.1 and Suse Enterprise 8.0.
Same results on all distros.
I'm starting to think it may be a hardware issue however this system runs
NetWare 6.5 and WIndows 2000/2003 servers just fine.
Any ideas?
