[Novices] network configuration

I am having difficulty with network activation on RH 7.3 on my pentium 
laptop.  I have created a profile for my wireless card with Gedit as noted:

The network configuraton gui recognizes the card and allows me to 
configure it, but will not allow me to activate it.  When "acitvate" is 
clicked nothing happens. 
I have tried ifup eth0 and get the message "/sbin/ifup: Configuration 
for eth0 not found" 
 
What all needs to configured for a wireless network.
