Not quite, but close. The domain name (the stuff after the @) generally
identifies the company that is providing your email. The sending and
receiving server names identify the actual machine out on the Net that
yours will talk to. A bit of googling suggests that for an
sbcglobal.net email address, you will want smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com for
outgoing server and pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com for incoming.

Not necessarily. Often you have a friendly name (Mike Williams), a
login name (knightperson at zuzax.com), and a way for you to identify this
email account to the mail program. User name for the incoming server is
probably <yourname>@sbcglobal.net.

Evolution is one of the many email programs out there. It's going to be
similar to kmail, but you might like one better than the other. Some
people prefer Mozilla Thunderbird, which is yet another choice.
