Actually, for simple text editing in the command line, I find myself
using pico quite a bit. Either that or TextEdit in OS X.
I prefer KEdit and KWrite in KDE for my GUI text editing needs on
Linux, and, honestly, i can't really find the difference between the
two apps for simple purposes...

Whatever... I'll take my Emacs any day over VI. Of course, I'll prolly
take my PowerBook over my Linux box as well (sorry, I'm spoiled by a
3D-accelerated GUI, that and the fact that my linux box has some
serious hardware problems that I don't have the cash to fix right now).
