[Novices] Wine loading

I tried to "invoke" Wine with the "wine setup exe" command and the whole
machine locked up.  That didn't work.  So then I put the Canon disc in
and double clicked setup exe when the window opened and was asked what
program I wanted to open the program with.  Fine except that Wine did
not appear in any of the options.
Any ideas????
