[Novices] Using Knoppix to Test, Diagnose & Benchmark

This reply is Linux distro independent, since I don't use Knoppix and I
have no idea what software it includes.

For testing memory in Linux, see:  memtest.org  &  memtest86.com 
Some distro's come with one or the other.

For testing hard drives, see badblocks(8).

For other tools, see hdparm(8).

Don't know about the rest.
