I don't run Knoppix enough to tell you. I believe it's like Bruce said.... most of this stuff is distro specific. 

If your looking for a 'package' that will replace the Sandra program I think your out of luck. In general, the unix philosophy is to do one thing and do it well. For example, memtest tests memory. badblocks searches a device for bad blocks. This makes it more difficult for a new user but it is extremely powerful once you get the hang of it (which I'm not sure I have *yet*).
