[Novices] Where to park downloaded backgrounds

for Open Office Impress.  When downloading them, don't they have to be
put in a certain directory to work?  We have the web address but unsure
where to bring the downloaded files in to. Will this approach work or do
I have to do Bring them in and do some kind of install?
