You can try downgrading to the old version on your CD. That may or may
not solve your problem. It's possible (likely?) that whatever happened
damaged your local settings and bookmarks beyond repair (except for
recovering from a backup). If you don't have a backup, you may need to
completely wipe out your firefox settings/bookmarks and start it from
scratch.
