There's a slight chance the problem might be in your
Firefox profile. Run [your firefox directory]/firefox
-profilemanager. If you haven't touched your profiles
at all, there oughta be only one in the list, named
"Default" or something similar. If there's more than
one, that might by your culprit. Try different
profiles on Firefox startup and see if any of them
bring back your bookmarks and toolbars.
I say it's a slight chance because whenever I manage
to screw up my profiles, my bookmarks don't just
break, they disappear completely. But it's worth a
shot, I guess. Hope it works out.
