First run the following command to verify Firefox is not corrupt:

  rpm -V MozillaFirefox

If you get anything other than these lines, report your findings:

S.5....T /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/components/xpti.dat
S.5....T /opt/MozillaFirefox/lib/extensions/Extensions.rdf

Then, (assuming Firefox is OK) exit firefox and rename all of it's
settings and bookmarks (saves them, but firefox can't find them so it
starts you fresh):

  mv .mozilla/firefox .mozilla/firefox-save

Then start firefox and see if it runs OK. (your bookmarks will be gone
and your settings we be reset to default). Try bookmarking something
and see if it works. Test everything that is currently broken.

If that works, we can try moving just your bookmarks back and see if
they are OK. Let us know ...
