We renamed your old/bad firefox directory so firefox couldn't find it,
effectively starting you fresh with firefox. (firefox recreates the
directory if it can't find it with all the default settings)

You need to copy the "bookmarks.html" file from the old/saved/bad
directory into the new directory firefox created.

So, stop firefox and copy the file:

.mozilla/firefox-save/<some-directory-name>/bookmarks.html

to:

.mozilla/firefox/<some-directory-name>/bookmarks.html

Then start firefox.
