I'm with Bruce on this one. IMAP's your best bet, if your provider
supports it. Many don't/won't, because they don't want people leaving
mail on their servers. One FREE provider I know DOES support it is
fastmail.fm and its associates. Of course, you COULD set up your own
IMAP server and use fetchmail to pull in all the mail from your
provider, but that might be more than you wanted to think about right
now. :)
