[Novices] some web images (like google maps) won't load in Firefox

Make sure both versions of Firefox are recent.

See what kind of images you are talking about (look at the HTML source).
i.e.  Maybe the image that doesn't load is flash and you don't have the
flash plugin installed on one PC?

I've seen that after using the acrobat reader plugin.  I usually run
"top" in a terminal window and kill the process using all the CPU.
