[Novices] Ubuntu/ installing Flash player

Well, now I have this downloaded to my desktop and don't know what to do with it either. It's a tar. BZ2.

Yeah, but that was forever ago.

There should be a "Terminal" or "Gnome Terminal" or "Xterm" or something
with the word "term" in it. Pick one, it doesn't matter.
I know I'm just overlooking it but I can't find anything that resembles the word (any of above). I also tried "help" to no avail.

Does it say you should be root or your normal user?
It doesn't say so I suppose not.
