I've never successfully got Ubuntu up and going so I'm pulling all this
out of some random orifice. For whatever reason when I try to install
Ubuntu in VMware it sends it into a stating of raving lunacy.

Is it possible to send a screenshot?

Mmm, I don't think so. The drivers should already be installed.

I doubt you actually want this. The only time I've ever had to use a
PPD file from the manufacturer was for corporate document centers (they
staple, they sort, they collate, the whir, they beep, and boy howdy do
they get catastrophic paper jams).

If you go to http://localhost:631/ in a web browser what do you see? Do
you see a page where you can click "Printers"?

But the printer DOES appear in OOo?
