Not really, I've just never gotten started with it.  

I have a big Star Office book that covers StarBasic in a couple of
chapters,  that itself could be used as an introduction (IMHO).

My first personal question is whether it is possible to make an HTTP
request from Star Basic and process the results.  For instance I'd like
to be able to import data from a webservice that returns XML.
